Binance will cut every connection to Binance Pool at 07:00 UTC on 10 November, along with cloud mining and Pool Savings. Machines still pointed at it have to move first. It found 48 of the last month's blocks, about one in a hundred.
Binance said on 13 October that it will discontinue Binance Pool and its related services on 10 November, as part of a review of its products. The notice on its support site names four products: Binance Pool, Pool Savings, Cloud Mining and the Transaction Accelerator.
The Block reported that the closure comes as the exchange widens into traditional-finance products. Binance gave no other reason, and no figure for how much hashrate the pool carries.
At 07:00 UTC on 10 November Binance disconnects mining connections and disables its Stratum addresses and mining endpoints. Shares and hashrate sent after that moment are not accepted or credited. The Telegram hashrate alerts, email notifications and the pool's API stop at the same time. Shares sent before the cutoff are counted in the final reward calculation.
Money still owed is paid out after the cutoff, subject to account status and Binance's compliance checks. Anyone who needs identity verification to receive a balance has until 23:59 UTC on 10 November to finish it. The pool's pages stay viewable until 07:00 UTC on 24 November and are then permanently inaccessible, so any record worth keeping, such as payout history for the tax year, should be saved before that date.
Cloud Mining and Pool Savings are products where a customer holds a position rather than points a machine. Binance asks those customers to redeem or unsubscribe before the service ends.
Shares sent after 07:00 UTC on 10 November are not accepted or credited.
Our pool data counts the blocks each pool finds from the tag it writes into them. In the 30 days to 14 October, Binance Pool found 48 of 4,436 blocks, 1.08%, which ranks 12th of the 18 pools we track. Over the past year it found 1,079 blocks, or 2.06%, so the last month's share is about half the year's.
The big three are far ahead. Foundry USA, AntPool and F2Pool together found about 63% of the month's blocks. A pool of Binance's size leaving does not move that picture, but every machine that was pointed at it has to land somewhere.
| Pool | Blocks found | Share of blocks |
|---|---|---|
| Foundry USA | 1,123 | 25.3% |
| AntPool | 930 | 21.0% |
| F2Pool | 726 | 16.4% |
| ViaBTC | 411 | 9.3% |
| SpiderPool | 316 | 7.1% |
| MARA Pool | 231 | 5.2% |
| SECPOOL | 187 | 4.2% |
| Luxor | 145 | 3.3% |
| OCEAN | 106 | 2.4% |
| Braiins Pool | 60 | 1.4% |
| NiceHash | 52 | 1.2% |
| Binance Pool | 48 | 1.1% |
| BTC.com | 46 | 1.0% |
A pool decides who counts your shares and how the reward is paid. The machine does the same work wherever it points, and the coins it earns are set by the network, not the pool. Moving means changing the Stratum address and worker name on each machine, or in the dashboard that controls them, before 07:00 UTC on 10 November. After that, a machine still pointed at Binance earns nothing until it is changed. Our guide to what a mining pool is explains what a pool does and why every machine uses one.
The network does not change because of this. A petahash earned 0.000476 bitcoin a day on 13 and 14 October on our hashprice chart, and that rate comes from difficulty and the block subsidy, not from which pool counted the shares. The job for anyone using Binance Pool is a settings change and a balance to collect, and both have a date.
