No days off in 641 in the UAE: the SealMiner A2 Hyd crossed to Nigeria on 25 September

Bitdeer's 16.5 J/TH water-cooled A2 Hyd ran from December 2024 in the UAE through the deepest hashprice trough since, and never once fell below its power line. Then a full year of figures said Nigeria's rate was decisively better, and it made its one move.

641 days in the UAE, with none of them off

The SealMiner A2 Hyd is Bitdeer's water-cooled machine of the second generation: up to 446 TH/s from 7,359 W, which is 16.5 J/TH, built on the company's own SEAL02 chip, according to Bitdeer's launch release of 31 October 2024. Bought once its price settled, on 23 December 2024, it cost $7,586. Landed at our UAE site, the all-in cost was $9,495.

In 660 days since it has mined and kept 0.1420 BTC, worth about $11,878 today, for $7,379 of electricity. That is $4,500 of cashflow, or 47% of its landed cost, with every coin kept. The run has 0 days switched off in it.

It is 660 days into a four-year machine, so the number to read is not the multiple but the direction: it has paid its power every day, and the coins keep arriving.

The trough it had to clear, and cleared by a fifth

A machine's line is the hashprice at which it stops covering its own power. At 16.5 J/TH a petahash uses 396 kWh a day: $23.76 at the UAE's 6¢, and $15.44 at Nigeria's 3.9¢.

Hashprice was $55.93 a petahash a day on the day we bought it and $39.87 on 12 October. In between, on our hashprice chart, its lowest day was $27.74 on 6 June 2026, and its lowest 30-day average $30.09, to 3 July. Both are above the 6¢ line, by 17% and 27%. Not one day of the 641 in the UAE closed under it.

A margin of that size is what made the UAE a comfortable place to run it. It is also what a machine of this efficiency has to live on: a few more J/TH and the same trough would have shown up as days switched off, as it did on older machines in the S19j Pro+ field report.

One move, on 25 September, to cheaper power

On 25 September 2026 it made its one move, to Nigeria, after 641 days in the UAE. A crossing is freight, customs and downtime at both ends, so a machine makes it once and does not shuttle, which is the rule in a machine crosses to cheap power once.

The trigger is a trailing year, not a bad month. Nigeria mines fewer hours than the UAE, but it pays 3.9¢ for power against 6¢. While a petahash earns well, the higher-uptime site wins. When a full year of figures, rallies included, says the cheaper site is decisively better, the machine has outgrown where it is. For the A2 Hyd that year ended in late September.

It has run 19 days in Nigeria so far, which is too few to say anything about the new leg. The line there is $15.44, about 60% below today's hashprice.

Where it stands, and what the halving does to it

Today a coin costs it about $53,800 of electricity at 6¢ and about $35,000 at Nigeria's 3.9¢, against a bitcoin price of $83,468. One bought at today's price returns 27% in its first year at 6¢ and 29% in Nigeria.

The April 2028 halving halves the coins a petahash earns. At today's price and difficulty that puts hashprice near $19.94, which is under the 6¢ line and well above the Nigerian one. The move puts it on the right side of that. The forward figures to that date add 0.087 BTC, worth about $10,807 with bitcoin back at $124,493, which would take cashflow to about 1.6× the landed cost. That is today's conditions held flat, apart from the price, which every forward projection assumes recovers.

Chart: Profit over electricity, month by month: 6¢ in the UAE, then 3.9¢ in Nigeria after the move.

What it says about the next machine you buy

We found no operator threads or repair write-ups on this machine to cite, so reliability is unknown rather than good. What the run shows is the arithmetic: 16.5 J/TH cleared the deepest trough since purchase by a fifth, and needs Nigeria's rate to clear a halved hashprice.

Bitdeer's own step up, the A2 Pro Hyd at 14.9 J/TH, was announced in its 17 March 2025 release, and the A3 Hyd sits at 13.5. A machine at 13.5 J/TH has a line of $19.44 at 6¢, under a halved hashprice. The figure below ranks what we would put in its place today, on cost per coin and then year-one return.
