What it costs to buy a terahash of mining, by how efficient the machine is. The classes are joules per terahash: the lower the number, the less electricity each terahash burns and the more the market will pay for it.
Machine prices track the bitcoin price closely — overlay it to see. They run hottest at the top of a bull market and are cheapest in the months after a halving and in bear markets, which is exactly when a machine bought for the long run gets the most hashrate for its money.
