What to expect from Bitdeer’s A4 Pro Hyd, the A4 that asks less of its chip

680 TH/s at 10.9 J/TH, water-cooled, from the same chip as Bitdeer’s record-setting Ultra. It has not run at our sites, so this is an argument from the machine before it and the numbers on its spec sheet.

The middle of the A4 range, in water

Bitdeer announced the SEALMINER A4 series on 7 April 2026. The A4 Pro Hydro is rated at 680 TH/s and 10.9 J/TH from 7,412 W, water-cooled, on Bitdeer’s own SEAL04 chip. It sits between the A4 Ultra Hydro at 9.45 J/TH and the air-cooled A4 Pro Air at the same 10.9. Bitdeer states a tolerance of ±5% on efficiency and ±10% on hashrate and power, so 10.9 is a typical figure, not a floor.

We hold no run record for it. At our UAE site, where water-cooled machines start, the specification works out at about $35,500 of electricity per bitcoin, and about $23,100 at Nigeria’s 3.9¢. The machine is listed as sold out in our store, so the first-year figure of roughly 52% is what the spec implies at the reference price we hold, not an offer.

10.9 J/TH is 13% less electricity per terahash than the A3 Pro Hyd it follows.

Chart: One at the reference price, racked in the UAE: year one at today’s difficulty, and what it would return by the April 2028 halving with bitcoin back at its previous high.

A step the lineage makes believable

Bitdeer’s ladder is short and recent. The air-cooled SealMiner A2 Pro was 14.9 J/TH. The A3 Pro Hyd, announced in September 2025, took the company’s silicon to 12.5 J/TH in a water loop. The A4 Pro Hyd claims 10.9 seven months later: 13% less energy per terahash.

Its sibling, the A4 Ultra Hyd, takes the same chip to 9.45 and carries the headline. The Pro is the quieter bet. It asks the SEAL04 chip to hit a figure well short of Bitdeer’s own best, in the same water loop, which is the easier claim to meet.

What the lineage cannot tell us is whether this generation meets its rating. The A3 Pro Hyd review scored reliability as unknown because it was under a year old; the A4 is younger still, and Bitdeer has not disclosed the process node.

What is in stock today in water-cooled hardware, ranked on cost per coin and then first-year return.

Against the water-cooled machines we can buy now

At the reference price the A4 Pro Hyd is $12.76 a terahash. The A3 Pro Hyd is $15.23 at 12.5 J/TH, and the S23 Hyd is $23.52 at 9.5.

The coin costs about $35,500 in the UAE for the A4 Pro Hyd, against $40,600 for the A3 Pro Hyd and $31,300 for the S23 Hyd. First-year return is about 52%, against 40% and 33%.

A price this far from its neighbours is the part to hold loosely. It is a reference price on a sold-out machine, and prices on a first-run machine move when stock arrives. The efficiency is the durable half of the case; the price has to be there on the day you buy.

It clears the halving with room

A machine’s line is the hashprice at which it stops covering its own power. At 10.9 J/TH a petahash uses 261.6 kWh a day, which is $15.70 at 6¢ and $10.20 at 3.9¢.

Network hashprice was $41.17 per petahash per day on 5 October on our hashprice chart. The April 2028 halving cuts the coins a petahash earns in half at an unchanged price and difficulty, which would put it near $20.59. That is above this machine’s line at both rates, by almost a third at 6¢. A 14.9 J/TH machine’s line at 6¢ is $21.46, above the halved figure.

This is today’s conditions held flat, not a forecast. At 10.9 J/TH the halving is a margin question, not a switch-off question, which is the point of the guide to efficiency and halvings.

At 10.9 J/TH the line is $15.70 at 6¢ and $10.20 at 3.9¢.

What would have to go wrong

Three things. The first is the rating: with a 5% tolerance a unit at 11.4 J/TH is still within spec, and its line at 6¢ would be $16.42, not $15.70. That still clears the halved hashprice. The second is the record: there is no field data on SEAL04 boards, and a first-run machine is where early faults show up. We score that as unknown, not as good.

The third is the route a fault takes. The warranty centre near our UAE site is the Antminer maker’s, and this is a Bitdeer machine, so repairs follow Bitdeer’s route. We cover what that costs in the repairs guide; it is a line item, but one we cannot yet put a number on for this model.

What it means for a miner

If the rating holds, the A4 Pro Hyd is a water-cooled machine that makes a coin for less electricity than the A3 Pro Hyd, starts in the UAE and carries through the halving with margin. If it misses by the full tolerance, the case is still intact.

Efficiency decides how many halvings a machine survives, and this one claims a good deal of it. Wait for it to be in stock, check the price then, and compare it on its machine page with the water-cooled machines already in stock.
